Saskatoon's "Try-Sport League" (Summer 2021/2022/2023)

With funding from the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Sport Relief program, we were able to create a multi-sport league for participants during summer of 2021. The league offered an opportunity for young athletes to participate in 3 sports within the 1 league, completely free of charge.

Everyday Biomechanics (Spring 2021)

Using NSERC funding, created an interactive video and supplementary activity sheets outlining uses of biomechanical analysis in various everyday and diverse activities: slack lining, basketball shooting, hoop dancing.

National Biomechanics Day (Spring 2018)

Biomechanics is considered the breakthrough science of the 21st century. Therefore, a world wide initiative began in 2015 to celebrate and introduce this fundamental form of STEM to students! The biomechanics labs within the School of Kinesiology at Auburn University formed an interactive, hands on tour for high school students to experience biomechanics in a college setting. The feedback was great and we look forward to continue celebrating NBD!

A Week in the Life of a Sports Biomechanist (Fall 2020)

I did a social media "take over" during the fall of 2020 for the International Womxn in Biomechanics society. During this week, I showcased some of the data capture methods, analysis techniques, perks and challenges of doing sports biomechanics research (during a pandemic!). I created content specifically for those starting out their career in academia who might not know yet what biomechanics involves or how fun it can be!

Wellness Fairs (Fall 2019)

The kinesiology department hosts wellness fairs at nearby high schools. This is a good opportunity to engage with students, and encourage healthy living: physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. Besides running activities sessions with fitness testing and gait analyses, we also led presentations related to hot topics in highschool: peer pressure, time management, etc.

American Society of Biomechanics Outreach Event (Summer 2018)

A highlight of the 42nd annual American Society of Biomechanics Conference in Rochester, MN, was the outreach event at the nearby Boys and Girls Club.  The event was comprised of different group activities which sought to bridge STEM and sports. The activities combined science and sport to enhance training, and sports skills!
